2000SqFt of display area with 6 full size kitchens.

A new DIY warehouse opened up locally a few weeks ago and I decided to take a look and see what was on offer and how their products and displays would measure up to  Beau-Port’s products and showroom.  It was difficult to get a real sense of how the kitchens I saw would look in a real setting, most were just very small kitchen displays or just portions of kitchen displays, all looking rather clinical in the harsh light of the warehouse setting.

The Beau-Port design team of Mark and Jacob Johnson have the benefit of a large showroom that has full-scale kitchen displays so that client’s can come along and get a real feel of how a particular kitchen – whether it is a contemporary kitchen, traditional kitchen or Shaker style kitchen – would work in their home.

Beau-Port has just launched two new contemporary kitchen displays and now have three full-scale contemporary kitchen displays and three full-scale traditional displays including Shaker style.  Beau-Port can also provide further choices and selections.

“We encourage clients to come along and ‘test drive’ the kitchens as they are all fully working kitchens – for example the Total Control AGA we have in our AGA kitchen display is fully functioning.  We also welcome clients who want to come back a few times to really experience the various kitchens we have on display – to linger and relax in the showroom.  We understand that creating a new kitchen is an investment and it can take time to decide just what style you feel will work in a particular style of property”, commented head designer Mark Johnson.

The Beau-Port designers then visit client’s homes and help to guide them towards making the best choices for the space and their budget.  Once clients have decided on a particular style it is  then all in the detail, which takes time and consideration and guidance from the design team who are renowned for their creativity, patience and attention to detail.

Every client I have interviewed on behalf of Beau-Port has been very complimentary about the 2000 sq ft showrooms located at Bentworth, just off the main Alton to Basingstoke Road.  Many clients have said that seeing the full-scale working kitchen displays really helped them to choose the right kitchen and to decide to use Beau-Port.

The Beau-Port showroom is constantly being updated and refreshed to ensure that new and returning customers can see the very latest kitchen and interiors designs.  As well as bespoke traditional and Shaker style kitchen displays, visitors to the showroom can also see a home study display, media centre display and new free-standing pantries.

“Because we are located off High Street we have been able to create a huge showroom at our HQ at Bentworth, near Alton.  We welcome those who are looking for a full-scale kitchen experience and our design team’s expertise.  So come and linger a while with us, enjoy the easy parking and our fabulous views,” concluded Mark Johnson.

Investing in a new kitchen or interiors project is not something we do every day.  When we do decide to go ahead with the project we need to know that the company we are investing our hard-earned cash with, has all the experience required to do the very best job.

Head designer at Beau-Port, Mark Johnson, has over two decades of experience in creating flawless kitchen and interiors projects for a wide range of clients.

I’ve been working with the Beau-Port team for a few years now, visiting their clients to carry out independent interviews them about their Beau-Port experience.  Without exception all the clients have praised the design expertise and experience of Mark, who is passing on his knowledge and skills to his son Jacob.

Mark’s approach with clients is collaborative and all the BP clients I have spoken to have commented on his ability to really listen to what they want to achieve, accurately interpret their needs and then come up with even more creative and innovative solutions to plan into their kitchen or interiors project of their dreams.

All kitchens have their quirks, one of the innovative ideas Mark came up with was to create a bespoke unit to fit in the “lost” space between the chimney breast and the wall. He made great use of all available space to incorporate storage cupboards, a compact appliance and its own tray drawer.

We see a lot of TV and paper media adverts for some of the larger players in the kitchens and interiors area, with many of these promoting the finished product but with very little said about the experience of their designers – the people who are in-store who are there to help you plan your kitchen for example.

I had recently visited one of the big shed DIY superstores and got talking to one of their kitchen ‘designers’ –  a  retired gentleman who had got bored with trying to fill his time with golf and trips to the pub and wanted something to keep him occupied and out from under his wife’s feet.  He was totally delightful, very helpful but on further enquiry I found that he had been given  just one week’s training on how to design a kitchen!

After over two decades of developing his design skills and expertise, Mark Johnson has encountered and solved every kind of design problem in a wide range of kitchens and interiors projects.  The Beau-Port  clients I have interviewed often use the word ‘confidence’ – stating that they felt confident in Mark’s design expertise.

If you are considering investing in a kitchens or interiors design project, it is always best to work with a company that listens to what you want to achieve and can create imaginative solutions based on years of experience and customer satisfaction.

A few decades ago we had the Yuppies – young, well-paid, middle-class professionals – now this generation has reached what is now known as the WOW stage – Wiser, Older and Wealthier – the WOW generation. This apparently refers to those who are now the 50+ age group, moving up the age scale away from their most debt enduring times from their 20’s to their mid 40’s.

It is a time when those who have had ongoing, well-paid careers finally find that they have more money to spend on the important things in life – more travel, better car and to be able to move up the property ladder and to have that beautiful bespoke kitchen or interiors project they have always wanted.

Alpha Boomer is another term for the same group, recently used to describe the 55 – 65+  age group in the US, currently the fastest growing group in that nation.

Recent figures in the UK show that there are now more people over the age of 40 than under that age and that 35% of the population is now over 55.  This is the age group that also seems to have the funds, time and interest to spend on home improvements.  Some have ‘empty nested’ and no longer need the large family home and look to down-size or even buy additional holiday homes.  Some just want to release capital to be able to experience all the items on their ‘bucket list’.   While others just want to use it to also make their new or existing homes – better.  They then have the funds to have exactly what they want and how they want it – expertly designed kitchens, media centres, beautifully fitted bedroom and bathroom furniture, boot rooms, laundry rooms or even cinema rooms.

At Beau-Port we welcome Yuppies, Alpha Boomers and as many of the WOW generation as we can fit into our huge 2000 sq ft showroom!  They will all get the chance to test drive our numerous full-scale kitchens, see our media display and other interiors displays and to linger a while and chat over a coffee with us, about how we can make their particular time of life and their homes even more beautiful and comfortable.
