Remember the days when kitchen designers only had either floor units or wall units to design with? Thankfully those days are long past and our Beau-Port designers now have a vast range of furniture options to offer our clients.

Their recent trip to visit Rotpunkt, our primary contemporary kitchen furniture manufacturer in Germany, had them returning to the UK with fresh and innovative ideas for designing perfect modern kitchens for our clients.

Rotpunkt Zerox door in Nogero with full length bar handles.

Rotpunkt uses one of their 2310mm tall tall units clad in new door and panel colour SY Nogero. Tall bar handles run the length of this door and can be made to suit the height.

Once opened up, the interior is lit up by Rotpunkt’s new Venice interior lighting system. You can specify this vertical lighting on either side of the cabinet and it can be switched on when you open the door, via an IR sensor.

Both Mark and Jacob liked the new tall floor-to-almost-ceiling units that are so adaptable for many uses. The warm, wood effect tall unit they saw, with its slim stainless steel handles from floor to the top of the unit, opened up to reveal flexible storage inside with vertical LED lights. This beautifully crafted piece of furniture could be used as a pantry and could combine the shelving with internal deep pan drawers.

The same design of furniture was also on display in a totally different finish that imitates stainless steel, but is actually a Jewel PS pearl chrome door, again with the full length slim stainless steel handles. This particular display had fitted the unit into a framework that looked as though it was made of concrete, to create the popular industrial look. This unit had a pantry behind one door and an integrated fridge behind the other door – a total food centre, with all of the ingredients in one place.

Still, on the tall storage theme, Rotpunkt has also created some¬†floor to ceiling units that can cover a whole wall incorporating ovens, microwave and recessed areas for coffee machines and other appliances that can be pulled out on their own stainless steel shelf for ease of access. The units can also conceal fridge, freezer, pantry units and can provide a huge amount of storage for all the client’s needs. Combining this with a central island can be all that is required in a kitchen design to fulfil all the necessary functions – storage, cooking, preparation and even dining if including seating around the island. This way of making maximum use of one wall of a kitchen can be adapted for all sizes of rooms from small to large.
